The Australian Coal Index is the most comprehensive index
tracking Australian companies in coal industry and associate
services where the majority of revenue is derived from
coal-related activities. The three sub-sectors of the index are
Coal Producers & Explorers, Coal-Seam Gas/Underground Coal
Gasification Producers & Explorers, and Coal Services including
coal exporters, mining services and coal transport companies.
Launched on the
1st of January 2011, the Bakers Australian Coal Index tracks
48 ASX-listed securities with a combined market
capitalisation in excess of $45.5 billion AUD and is
calculated on a weekly basis.
