CIMIC Group's Pacific Partnerships has received the all
clear for its proposed 250 MW AC Hopeland Solar Farm,
located between Dalby and Chinchilla in Queensland, from the federal
environmental regulator.
Pacific Partnerships acquired the development rights for the 312 MW DC project, within the Southern Queensland Renewable Energy Zone, from Renewable Energy Partners in August 2023.
Plans include a 175 MW / 350 MWh battery energy storage system.
The project is located approximately 1km east of the Western Downs Sub-station, offering good connection potential.
Development approval for Hopeland was granted by Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) in September 2017, with an extension granted in May 2022.
On current schedules construction is anticipated to start in the second half of 2006 taking approximately two years, with generation expected to commence in 2028. Pacific Partnerships will manage the engineering, procurement, and construction process for the project.
